Registered Nurse (RN) – Day Shift, 3×12 Scheduled Position
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while embracing the core values of quality care, treating others respectfully, achieving results, teamwork, and resourcefulness in overcoming challenges.
Responsibilities
• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient’s diagnosis through collaboration with the patient/family and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates during Initial Team and Re-evaluation Team Conferences.
• Ensure accurate documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, providing direct care through assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety in line with hospital policies.
• Contribute positively to unit function by providing calm direction to staff, departments, patients, and families.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested following the orientation period.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
