Registered Nurse (RN) – Night Shift 3×12.0 Contract Position
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Night shift, 3 days a week, 12-hour shifts.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, and promotes a safe environment for both patients and staff.
Responsibilities
• Conduct nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, forming individualized care plans.
• Identify patient and family teaching needs in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and manage direct patient care using the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding patient status changes to the care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide guidance, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing staff while effectively managing time and resources.
• Contribute positively to the unit’s functioning and participate in team-building activities.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and supplies.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through education and self-study.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• A minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
