Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety, adhering to organizational safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to form an individualized plan of care.
• Identify patient teaching needs and goals, collaborating with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates during team conferences.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, ensuring direct patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care and patient safety.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to nursing personnel while managing unit functions efficiently.
• Contribute positively to the unit environment by fostering teamwork and a supportive atmosphere.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• BLS certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience required.
