Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU
Location
Frankfort, Kentucky
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Shift: 07:00 – 19:00, every other weekend with three 12-hour shifts.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) to join our ICU team. The ideal candidate should possess a strong clinical background in critical care nursing, demonstrating excellent patient management skills with a focus on telemetry monitoring and advanced life support procedures. The position requires effective communication and interprofessional collaboration within a high-stress environment.
Responsibilities
• Provide direct patient care in the ICU, including telemetry monitoring and advanced therapeutic interventions.
• Manage CPAP and BiPap therapy, port access, and perform therapeutic phlebotomy.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including post-dialysis assessment and blood transfusions.
• Collaborate with physicians and team members for efficient patient care delivery.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• 2 years of ICU experience required.
• Active nursing license in good standing (Kentucky or Compact License).
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Current NIH Stroke Scale certification (must be certified annually).
• Preferred skills include experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, wound vacs, drains, centralized lines, and ventilators.
