Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees. Responsibilities
• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to create individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals based on patient assessments and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information during team conferences and ensure accurate documentation in medical records.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and prioritize education for patients and families.
• Initiate discharge planning and teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate effectively with care providers to support continuity of care.
• Direct and supervise auxiliary nursing staff, utilizing effective problem-solving techniques.
• Ensure a safe environment in compliance with nursing policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning, supporting teamwork and creating a reassuring atmosphere.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and supplies.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and seek professional growth through continuing education.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
