Contract Type: Travel
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3×12 Nights, 3×12 Days
Pay: $2,516.40/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Job Description
ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Riverside, California, within a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). This is a high-acuity critical care environment supporting complex, medically fragile patients requiring advanced monitoring, life-support interventions, and multidisciplinary care.
The RN will provide direct critical care services, manage ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients, perform advanced clinical procedures, and collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. This role requires strong clinical judgment, ICU expertise, and the ability to function effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure situations.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct ICU-level nursing care to critically ill patients.
• Monitor hemodynamics, ventilators, and advanced life-support equipment.
• Perform continuous assessments and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications, drips, and complex treatments.
• Assist with and manage post-neurological intervention care.
• Perform and support procedures including:
• Central lines
• Hemodialysis access
• Arterial lines
• Wound care
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning.
• Float to SICU, CVU, PCU, and ED holds (ICU patients) as needed.
• Serve as preceptor or charge nurse when assigned.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Uphold unit policies, safety standards, and clinical protocols.
Qualifications
• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Required: Greater than 1 year of ICU experience.
• Preferred Experience:
• Neurological ICU
• Trauma ICU
• Cardiac ICU
• Experience as a preceptor and/or charge nurse
• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Strong critical thinking, assessment, and emergency response skills.
• Ability to function in high-acuity, fast-paced environments.
• Positive, upbeat, and hardworking personality fit.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts and weekends.
