Job Description

A rewarding opportunity is available for registered nurses to provide exceptional care on a 45-bed medical-surgical unit in a supportive hospital setting located in the Camden, ME area. This contract position offers a chance to apply proven nursing skills in a busy environment caring for patients with diverse diagnoses such as heart failure, COPD, pneumonia, orthopedic, general surgery, and urology cases. The unit also admits pediatric patients occasionally, with PALS certification preferred.

Key Qualifications and Experience:
• Current RN licensure with a minimum of one year clinical experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS; PALS certification is preferred but not mandatory
• Proficient in IV therapy, telemetry monitoring, and clinical documentation
• Comfortable working with Plum pumps, pyxis machines, bladder scanners, EKG devices, and Phillips cardiac monitors
• Ability to provide patient-focused care in a fast-paced medical-surgical unit
• Professional, organized, and a collaborative team player

Responsibilities Include:
• Delivering high-quality nursing care to adult and pediatric medical-surgical patients
• Monitoring cardiac telemetry and managing IV therapies safely and effectively
• Utilizing hospital EMR (EPIC) for accurate and timely documentation
• Adhering to established patient ratios (1:5 days, 1:6 nights)
• Participating in unit float assignments as required

Schedule and Shift Details:
• Day shift from approximately 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Guaranteed 36 hours weekly with every other weekend rotation

Work Environment and Dress Code:
• A clean, professional appearance is expected; scrub colors are flexible but prints, hoodies, crocs, or open-toed shoes are not permitted
• The unit fosters a positive, team-oriented culture
