Responsibilities • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission to develop individualized plans of care. • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to identify teaching needs and set healthcare goals. • Provide timely and accurate updates during team conferences and document patient care thoroughly in medical records. • Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs, emphasizing education and positive encouragement to meet quality outcomes. • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission to ensure smooth transitions. • Communicate patient status changes effectively to support continuity of care and collaborate with physicians and nursing leadership. • Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating appropriately and using problem-solving techniques. • Maintain a safe care environment by adhering to hospital policies and safety standards, including infection control and equipment use. • Promote a positive and efficient unit atmosphere through team collaboration and effective communication. • Manage clinical supplies and resources responsibly to enhance cost-effectiveness while ensuring quality care. • Pursue professional development to maintain and enhance nursing competencies. • Assume charge nurse duties as needed following orientation.
