A registered nurse with strong med/surg expertise is needed in the Surgical Care Unit of a healthcare facility located near Girdwood, AK. This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced RN seeking to apply advanced nursing skills in a fast-paced environment focused on post-surgical and general surgery patients. Responsibilities include providing high-quality nursing care to a patient population primarily composed of post-surgical and general surgery cases. Nurses will manage patient assessments, administer treatments, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes. Familiarity with NG-tube care, central line management, and use of Epic documentation systems is essential. The role involves floating to similar med/surg units as needed and maintaining certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure. • Solid med/surg nursing background. • Experience with central lines and NG-tubes. • BLS certification required. • Comfortable working with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio. • Ability to float to similar units as needed. • Proficiency with electronic documentation systems (Epic preferred). • Available to work 4 weekend shifts per schedule requirements. • Adherence to a navy scrub dress code.
