Job Description
This position offers an opportunity to join an experienced Nursing Resource Team providing diverse patient care across multiple critical and medical-surgical units within a hospital setting. Functioning as a hospital-wide float nurse, you will utilize your advanced clinical skills across Emergency, ICU, Progressive Care, Medical-Surgical, and Behavioral Health units including adult acute, youth acute, and addiction recovery populations. Your adaptability and comprehensive nursing expertise will support delivering compassionate, coordinated, and culturally competent care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver nursing care to a broad range of patients, applying the nursing process consistent with regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, promoting open communication and shared decision-making.
• Provide patient education to enhance understanding of conditions, medications, and self-care competencies.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests within the RN scope of practice.
• Float reliably across various units, managing time efficiently in fast-paced environments.
• Maintain competency with safety equipment, restraints, and lifting devices.
• Ensure documentation and care plans meet facility and professional standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years recent clinical experience spanning ER, ICU, PCU, Medical-Surgical, and Behavioral Health (adult acute, youth acute, addiction recovery).
• Skilled in cardiac drip management and non-invasive ventilation.
• Current RN license in Idaho or compact state.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; additional training such as Restraint C and MOAB provided during onboarding.
• Ability to meet age-specific needs of assigned units.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems advantageous.
Schedule:
• 12-hour shifts (days or nights) with every other weekend required.
• Assignments communicated prior to shifts with potential for mid-shift unit float.
