Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Med Surg Nurse is responsible for developing and implementing patient care plans, administering medications and treatments, and collaborating with the healthcare team. This role requires strong clinical skills, communication abilities, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment. The RN will also provide guidance to other nursing staff and maintain a safe and well-supplied unit. Location:Montana, United States Responsibilities:
- Develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family interviews, health record review, and identified needs.
- Implement emergency measures when a physician is not immediately available, including resuscitative measures.
- Administer prescribed therapeutic measures, including medications and IV therapy.
- Plan, provide, and document patient and family teaching on preventative, curative, and rehabilitative measures.
- Record observations, nursing interventions, and the status of coordinated activities.
- Evaluate patient progress, update care plans, and document interventions and responses.
- Document specific healthcare requirements and prepare written assignments for team members.
- Oversee patient care administered by LPNs and unlicensed personnel.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to other RNs, LPNs, and unlicensed personnel.
- Share responsibilities for maintaining adequate supplies and equipment and ensuring a safe environment.
- Maintain current knowledge and competency in nursing practice and promote professional growth.
- Demonstrate positive role model and leadership qualities, adhering to professional, ethical, and legal standards.
- Maintain positive work habits, interpersonal skills, and relationships with staff, patients, and families. Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of working.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital, home health, or hospice setting.
- Clinical Assessment, Medication Administration, and Treatment Planning skills.
- Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field. Special Considerations:
- Required to work every other weekend and holidays.
- Will be required to float to other Medical-Surgical units.
- This unit is the Medical-Surgical overflow unit. Scheduling:
- Days, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM.
- Flexible schedule required.
