Overview
Guided by the provisions of the NC Nurse Practice Act, this individual will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, documenting, arranging, prioritizing, delegating, supervising and coordinating the care provided to patients across different age groups, including neonates, children, teenagers, adults, and seniors.
Responsibilities
Documents and updates the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient's response to care, while keeping healthcare team, patients, and significant others informed.
Establishes empathetic and caring ties to nursing/healthcare staff, patients, and their significant others. Acknowledges and overcomes any communication hurdles while utilizing available resources. Highlights the importance of diversity and cultural distinctions that exist within patients and significant others, influenced by age, ethnicity, gender, religion, socio-economic status, education, personality, or similar factors that set individuals apart. Formulates customized solutions that address specific individual needs relating to cultural diversity, special characteristics, or other unique variables. Advocates for patients and significant others through professionalism and excellent customer service based on each situation's specialized context.
Demonstrates accountability to Shared Governance principles and responsibilities.
Helps foster a culture of respect, accountability, and inclusivity.
Demonstrates a sound and practical approach to conflict resolution, by focusing on practical solutions and viable alternatives, without compromising the integrity of the individuals involved.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:Required:
Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Preferred:
Graduates of the BSN program can perform a wide range of tasks, including patient assessments, medication administration, and wound care
EXPERIENCE:Required:
Whether you have completed an acute care new graduate program or been accepted into Cone Health's rigorous program, we encourage recent RN graduates to apply for nursing positions.
Preferred:
The ideal candidate for this position should have at least one year of experience as an RN in an acute care setting, although other forms of RN experience may be taken into consideration by the hiring manager.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:REQUIRED
A person who has undergone the required training program and passed the relevant examinations to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina or other Compact states.
The American Red Cross and AHA Healthcare Provider programs teach essential skills, including the recognition of cardiac episodes, instruction on how to properly perform chest compressions, and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED), which has proven successful in saving lives
PREFERRED
Some nursing units require that certain certifications be obtained by their recruits within a specific period of employment, and these credentials may also be preferred by the department.
