Job Description
This opportunity calls for an experienced registered nurse ready to serve a dynamic hospital-wide float department providing care across multiple specialty units. The role requires delivering high-quality nursing care in Emergency, Intensive Care, Progressive Care, Medical-Surgical, and Behavioral Health settings (including adult acute, youth acute, and addiction recovery). Adaptability and strong clinical skills are essential to succeed in this fast-paced, varied environment.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
• Graduate of a nationally accredited nursing program; BSN strongly preferred
• Minimum of 3 years recent experience in all the following areas (may be concurrent): ER, ICU, PCU, Medical-Surgical, and Behavioral Health/Psych (adult, youth, addiction recovery)
• Proficient with cardiac drips and non-invasive ventilation
• Current RN license in Idaho or compact state
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and Restraint C (orientation training provided)
• Department of Health & Welfare background fingerprinting clearance required
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts (07:0019:30 or 19:0007:30), including every other weekend
• Comfortable with hospital-wide float nursing role supporting multiple units
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate, plan, implement, and document nursing care for assigned patient populations across varied units
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care
• Assist physicians during exams and procedures; administer medications within RN scope
• Promote patient independence through education on conditions, medications, and self-care
• Adapt quickly to changing unit demands and maintain strong time management skills
• Utilize nursing best practices and state nursing regulations consistently
