Job Description
An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse to serve as a Staff Development Coordinator in a long-term care setting. This contract position is based in Roxboro, NC, and involves a dynamic role focused on orienting new employees, conducting in-service education, and ensuring compliance with nursing and nursing assistant certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Orient new nursing staff and coordinate educational in-services
• Organize an annual skills day for nursing personnel
• Verify and maintain up-to-date licenses and certifications for nurses and nursing assistants
• Complete and manage nursing assistant renewal submissions
• Monitor and investigate incidents and medication errors within the facility
• Track infection control measures and reporting
• Provide direct patient care as necessary, with 24/7 availability for on-call nurse duties
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Current RN licensure with long-term care experience
• Certification in Spice (or related clinical certifications) preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage compliance and educational initiatives effectively
• Flexibility to provide direct care and handle on-call responsibilities
Schedule:
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (5x8 hours)
