A nursing opportunity is available at a well-established acute care hospital in South Charleston, WV, specializing in medical-surgical and oncology care. This contract position offers a dynamic clinical environment caring for adult patients, including oncology, urology, and telemetry cases, with a focus on palliative care and family education. Key Responsibilities: • Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical and oncology patients on a 29-bed unit. • Administer chemotherapy (preferred) and manage complex patient care including central line draws, ports, blood administration, PCA pumps, and assist with procedures such as bone marrow aspirations and pleurx chest tubes. • Maintain patient ratios of approximately 4-5:1 during day shifts. • Float as needed within scope of practice to support unit needs. • Educate patients and families about oncological processes and care plans. Qualifications and Experience: • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience. • Valid RN license (WV or Compact) with clean licensure verification. • Required certifications: BLS; oncology certification such as ONCC/ONS preferred. • Skills in telemetry monitoring and advanced line management. • Ability to work 12-hour day shifts, with every other weekend required. Schedule/Hours: • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.), weekdays with alternating weekends. • Option for 36- or 48-hour contracts. • Limited holiday time off requests honored based on facility policy. Facility Information: Located in South Charleston, this Level IV Trauma Center is a major teaching hospital with over 800 staffed beds.
