RN Med Surg | Tuscaloosa, Alabama in Holt, AL

Join a specialized renal nursing team providing skilled care to patients with kidney-related conditions in a supportive hospital environment. This contract opportunity is based in Tuscaloosa, AL, within a dedicated 36-bed renal unit focused on acute and chronic kidney disease management, including renal replacement therapies such as hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.

Responsibilities include:
• Delivering high-quality nursing care to renal patients with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Collaborating closely with nephrologists, family practice providers, and hospitalists
• Supporting patient care throughout diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
• Flexibly floating to other units and hospitals when needed
• Covering holidays as required and working every other weekend

Qualifications and desired experience:
• Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required
• Current Registered Nurse license for Alabama or Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted)
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) or Red Cross certification
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, with at least 1 year specializing in renal care; candidates with 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license will be considered

Schedule:
• 36 or 48 hours per week, with flexible holiday and weekend shifts
