Job Title: RN – Med Surg
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11212
Duration: 02/23/2026 – 05/23/2026
Shift: Days and Nights available with 11.5x3 schedule
Schedule Notes: No RTO For New Contracts, do not submit travellers who do not have the following experience: BSN completed, >/= 2 years’ experience, BLS, skilled in managing a variety of surgical patients to include (Ortho, vascular, urology, bariatric), competent in vent/tracheostomy, gastrostomy tubes, and wound care management.
Pay Range: $57 - $60/hr.

Job Summary
• Utilize the nursing process in the provision of direct patient care.
• Responsible and accountable for prescribing, delegating, and coordinating all care provided to assigned patients.
• Deliver care based on standards established by the Department of Nursing and applicable hospital policies and procedures.
• Diagnose and treat human responses to actual and potential health problems through health teaching, counseling, and supportive or restorative care.
• Supervise patient care provided by licensed practical nurses (LPNs), registered nurses on permit (RNP), nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff.
Responsibilities
• Assess immediate and ongoing care needs of patients and significant others.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive plans of care, including physical, psychosocial, spiritual, teaching, and discharge needs.
• Provide direct patient care based on assessed needs and prescribed medical regimens.
• Oversee and ensure the provision of all aspects of patient care.
• Supervise care delivered by nursing personnel in accordance with scope of practice.
• Observe, evaluate, document, and communicate patient responses to illness and therapeutic interventions.
• Ensure timely reassessment when changes occur in patient condition or diagnosis.
• Coordinate overall plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Establish care priorities and initiate follow-up to ensure timely interventions.
• Integrate age-specific care needs as defined by unit scope of care.
• Accept accountability for nursing interventions and outcomes based on professional clinical judgment.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and development of nursing standards.
• Demonstrate effective communication, stress management, and interpersonal skills.
Other Responsibilities
• Participate in orientation of nursing staff.
• Assume charge responsibilities as delegated.
• Assist with coverage across units as assigned.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Serve as a clinical resource for student nurses.
• Participate in meetings, committees, conferences, and educational programs.
• Engage in research and pilot projects supported by the Nursing Department.
• Demonstrate ongoing professional development through education, certifications, and participation in professional organizations.
Required Skills & Experience
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience.
• Experience managing a variety of surgical patients, including orthopedics, vascular, urology, and bariatric.
• Competency in ventilator and tracheostomy care, gastrostomy tubes, and wound care management.
