Job Title: Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (RN-MS)
Location: Aiken, SC 29801
Shift: 12-Hour Night Shift, 3x12s / 36 hr/week
Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Job Summary: The RN – Medical/Surgical is responsible for providing safe, competent, and compassionate nursing care to patients on the medical/surgical telemetry unit. The nurse delivers care in accordance with licensure, certification, training, and regulatory requirements while utilizing clinical judgment and evidence-based practice. This position requires proficiency in patient assessment, monitoring, and interventions, as well as the ability to provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan.

Key Responsibilities:
Perform initial and ongoing assessments of assigned patients, including review of systems, to determine appropriate nursing care needs.
Deliver direct patient care in a competent, efficient, and caring manner.
Apply knowledge of growth and development to provide age-appropriate care.
Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
Manage telemetry monitoring and respond appropriately to alarms and changes in patient condition.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
Provide patient and family education, ensuring understanding of care plans, medications, and follow-up needs.
Follow all institutional policies, procedures, and regulatory standards, including BLS, ACLS, and CPI protocols.
Utilize Cerner EMR for documentation and communication of patient information.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection control practices, and safety protocols.

Required Qualifications:
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina.
Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program.
Minimum 2 years of inpatient nursing experience; telemetry experience required.
Minimum 6 months travel nurse experience; Med/Surg telemetry experience required.
BLS and ACLS certification required.
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute – NCI with Advanced Physical Skills Training) certification required.
Cerner EMR experience required.
Ability to live within 100 miles of the facility.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) highly desired.
