Schedule
Full-Time Night Shift: 3 12-hour shifts from 1830 to 0700, every 3rd weekend, with possible on-call depending on census.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse position provides quality, professional general nursing care to patients. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating patient care for a group of patients in the department. This role requires adaptability to changes in daily assignments, patient status, and unit needs. The nurse will provide care to Med/Surg and EICU patients.
Responsibilities
• Utilize the nursing process throughout patient hospitalization to individualize care.
• Develop and document the patient plan of care based on assessment and medical diagnosis.
• Provide care independently within the framework of unit requirements, physician orders, and policies.
• Respond to life-threatening situations following nursing standards and protocols.
• Communicate significant condition changes to the provider timely.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
• Be proficient in medication administration, including IV therapy, ensuring safety and accuracy.
• Initiate patient/family education and discharge planning according to individual needs.
• Delegate and collaborate with other health team members in providing care.
• Maintain a safe environment and utilize infection control procedures.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Two-year degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Must hold and maintain Wisconsin Registered Nursing license.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
