Registered Nurse – Acute Adult Oncology
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 x 12 HR SHIFT, Every Other Weekend Required.
Job Description
The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. This role plans, implements, and documents nursing care based on patient needs, while identifying patient needs and determining priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. The RN will develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care based on ongoing assessments.
Responsibilities
• Initiates assessment based on the patient’s problems or needs and the physician’s medical diagnosis.
• Performs therapeutic nursing interventions and manages care of patients.
• Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports innovations in care delivery.
• Provides patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Two (2) years of experience in acute adult oncology, specializing in leukemia and lymphoma, in an inpatient setting.
• Required Education: ASN; Preferred Education: BSN.
• Required Certifications: BLS – AHA; NJ State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
• Preferred Certifications: Telemetry, Chemotherapy Certification with ONS.
