Job Description

The Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive nursing care to surgical patients, demonstrating advanced assessment and clinical skills. The RN will scrub for neuro or ortho procedures and has preferred experience in vascular and robotic surgeries.

Responsibilities
• Perform thorough assessments across all stages of growth and development, delivering patient care appropriately.
• Consistently demonstrate clinical skills and provide direct patient care in line with the unit’s protocols.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of patient care and progress.
• Exhibit professionalism by adhering to policies and identifying areas for growth.
• Respond to patients and families in a courteous and positive manner, promoting patient satisfaction.
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals and utilize safe transfer techniques.
• Demonstrate knowledge of specific conditions, procedures, and equipment related to surgical patients.
• Contribute to the perioperative team by prioritizing patient care based on needs.
• Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures and ensure comprehension.
• Support timely completion of patient testing and evaluate Pre Admission Testing orders.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• 1 year of nursing experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Current RN license required.
• CNOR certification preferred.
