Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Orthopedic
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Day shift: 3×12 Hour shifts (07:00 – 19:00)
Job Description
The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse specializing in Orthopedics will provide care for patients with orthopedic conditions, managing various medical needs in a telemetry setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills and be capable of handling a variety of procedures and medical conditions.
Responsibilities
• Manage patient care for orthopedic and medical-surgical patients.
• Administer medications and perform treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patient vitals and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Educate patients and families about post-operative care and health maintenance.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical or telemetry nursing role.
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS preferred.
• Experience with accessing ports, blood product administration, and central line management.
• Familiarity with Epic documentation system required.
