Shift: 2 PM – 4 PM; 2 days a week.
Job Description
The PACU Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to Post Anesthesia Care patients. This position involves collaboration with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Surgical staff, and other personnel, utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act, AORN, and Hospital policy and procedures. The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning for safe delivery of care. The role also involves maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education and delegating patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the available staff.
Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality post-anesthesia care to patients.
• Work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Utilize critical thinking and scientific judgment in patient care delivery.
• Maintain clinical competencies and participate in ongoing education.
• Delegate patient care tasks appropriately based on staff experience.
• Direct and supervise assigned personnel in delivering patient care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• 2-4 years of PACU nursing experience.
• Current Arizona Nursing License.
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required.
