Registered Nurse – IMC Med/Surg

This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule
Nights: 7 PM – 7 AM, with weekend requirements every other weekend.
Job Description
The competent Nurse in the same or similar clinical setting practices independently and demonstrates an awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This role involves providing both routine and complex care while developing strategies for long-range goals or plans. The nurse will also manage clinical contingencies effectively and delegate responsibilities to other care providers appropriately.
Responsibilities
• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families according to their level of practice.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• One year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS certification (AHA only) required.
• Current RN License in the state of Texas or compact license.
• ACLS certification (AHA only) required.
