Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) | Santa Rosa

Start Date: 1/19 or 1/26 (No Exceptions) | 3×12 Nights | Full-Time Contract

We’re seeking an experienced Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) for an inpatient behavioral-health hospital in Santa Rosa. This role is ideal for nurses experienced in acute psychiatric care, crisis management, and multidisciplinary treatment environments.
Position Highlights

Location: Santa Rosa
Setting: Inpatient psychiatric hospital (acute / locked unit)
Start Window: 1/19 or 1/26 only — no alternative dates
Contract Type: Full-time contract
Shift: Nights — 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM (3×12)
Schedule: 36 hours/week
First-Week Orientation: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; following week moves to assigned night-shift schedule

Required Qualifications
• Current Registered Nurse Licensure in-state practicing
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses, treatment planning, and psychotropic medications
• Ability to assess, document, and deliver safe inpatient psychiatric nursing care
• Experience in behavioral-health or inpatient psych
• Ability to lead and support the milieu during crises and collaborate closely with nursing and clinical teams
Competency Expectations

You must be able to demonstrate competency in:
• Suicide-prevention practices
• Safe use of seclusion & restraints
• De-escalation and crisis-response techniques
• Medication administration & safety protocols
• Emergency interventions and code response
• Infection-prevention standard
What You’ll Do
• Provide direct nursing care to adult psychiatric inpatients
• Assess patient status, manage medications, and complete documentation each shift
• Participate in treatment-team planning and report clinically relevant information
• Support a safe, therapeutic environment and respond effectively during psychiatric crises
• Guide, coordinate, and oversee the work of other nursing personnel during assigned shifts
