Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse provides quality and professional nursing care for patients following established standards and practices. Under the supervision of the Clinic Nurse Director and Physician assess patient symptoms and communicate with physician regarding assessment. Additional duties:Assist physician with in-office or out-of-town clinics. Prepare patient for physician by assessing vital signs, problems or concerns, medications, etc.Be able to assess patient problems, answer questions, refill prescriptionsCommunicate to physician regarding patient statusRespond to incoming telephone calls and assist patients with questions or problems to ensure their health and safety as neededInstruct patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions per Physician instructions.Administer or assist with injectionsAssist with treadmill stress testsa) Monitor patient or arrhythmia, blood pressure, ECG changes, and report findings.Assist Medical Assistant with all duties as neededSchedule hospital procedures/admissions and diagnostic testing as necessary; Provide patient educationEnsure pre-authorization of hospital admissions/procedures with insurance department.Assist with hospital/facility rounds as directed by physicia a) Gather chart data to communicate with respecting Physician b) Responsible for scribing within the presence of a physician discharge summaries and or progress notes. Document thoroughly and accurately. c) Communicate discharge information to the referring provider d) H&P – review with family members per Physician instruction e) Arrange follow-up testing and appointments as ordered.May give verbal or telephone orders as specifically directed respecting PhysicianMaintain and review patient records, charts and other pertinent information. Post tests and examinations resultsRemoval of chest tubes – for cardiovascular surgical teams only.
Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing program. Licensure/Certification: Registered Nurse with current Oklahoma licensure. Current BLS certification required within 30 days of hire. Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of continuous experience in a clinic setting. Cardiac experience preferred.
