The Registered Nurse at Beebe Healthcare's South Coastal Cancer Infusion Center provides comprehensive direct and indirect nursing care to oncology and infusion patients in a specialized, patient-focused environment. This role requires strong clinical judgment, thorough knowledge of hospital and departmental policies, and the ability to deliver safe, high-quality infusion therapy. The RN collaborates closely with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team, utilizing strong interpretive, interpersonal, and consultative skills to support optimal treatment outcomes and exceptional patient experience.
Responsibilities:
• Documents medications given appropriately and in a timely manner.
• Facilitates, implements, and evaluates the Patient Plan of Care and outcomes in collaboration with the health care team.
• Technical Skills. Demonstrates appropriate clinical skills and technical competence in providing patient care.
• Critical Thinking. Demonstrates appropriate clinical judgment.
• Documents patient assessments accurately and correctly within the specified time at admission, transfer, and discharge.
• Assess patient safety facts and identifies those patients requiring specific safety devices.
• Evaluates test results in a timely manner and notifies physician. Reports critical values immediately.
• Educational needs of patient.
• Assesses educational needs and documents appropriately.
• Provides appropriate written and verbal instructions.
• Transcription of orders - transcribes orders accurately and timely.
• Prioritization.
• Prioritizes responsibilities and issues, taking into account urgency and patient needs.
• Seeks appropriate resources.
• Uses independent thinking and problem solving.
• Collects adequate and correct blood/urine specimens from patients as ordered by physicians, using proper technique and equipment.
• Correctly labels specimens and processes.
• Ensures appropriate delivery of specimens to the lab via courier or specimen pick up from outside agencies.
Qualifications:
• Prior Oncology experience highly preferred
