Job Description
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process as per applicable standards of practice. Responsibilities include performing care interventions, medication administration, and patient education while promoting the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
Responsibilities
• Administer medications and perform clinical treatments as outlined in the care plan.
• Document patient care given and monitor patient conditions.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene and ambulation.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care and support needs.
• Provide education to patients and families tailored to their needs.
• Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Active Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact state.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Previous medical surgical or acute care experience is necessary.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
• Flexibility in scheduling, with availability for all shift patterns including weekends and holidays.
