Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the operating room (OR) and other areas of perioperative services for all patient populations. Primarily functioning as an RN first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures and throughout the perioperative continuum, this role will align with scope of practice credentials, privileges, experience, education, and competency verification. When a first assistant is not needed, the RN may be assigned secondary roles of scrub or circulator as appropriate.
Responsibilities
• Function as an RN first assistant during surgical procedures and invasive interventions.
• Provide patient-centered care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
• Assist with preparations and maintenance of the surgical field and instruments.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe and effective outcomes.
• Adapt to various roles, including scrub and circulator, as needed based on surgical requirements.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• Valid RN license in the state of practice.
• Certification and experience as an RN first assistant.
• Demonstrated competency and experience in perioperative services.
