Job Overview Fairview is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our SAU/PACU team at our M Health Fairview Lake's Hospital in Wyoming, MN! Our Same Day Surgery nursing staff provides quality and compassionate care for patients before and after same-day surgery/procedure as well as surgeries that occur before and during admission to the hospital. We provide emotional & educational support with preoperative phone calls, during their stay with us and post-operative follow-up phone calls. Because our department has a rapid turnover of short-term patients, our staff must have good assessment skills, the desire to work as a team and the ability to adapt to changing situations. Schedule: This SAU/PACU nursing position will be working casual hours every two weeks on the rotating day/evening/nights and 8 hour shifts. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate. Responsibilities • Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes. • Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care • Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs. • Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomes. • Collaborates and communicates effectively and respectfully with the patient, family and members of the health care team within and across care settings to promote partnership-based health care • Demonstrates the ability to advance care by utilizing standards, guidelines, care pathways and continuous improvement to enhance patient outcomes. • Promotes a culture of evidence based practice (EBP) Required Qualifications: • Current Minnesota RN License • 2 years recent PACU experience (within the last three years) • BLS and ACLS • PALS within three months of hire Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing • 2 years recent PACU experience (within the last three years).
