The Job
Maintains in-depth knowledge of nursing principles, practices, standards, and techniques, and applies this knowledge in accordance with COPA policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations, including the following:
Conducts individualized patient assessments, prioritizing data collection based on the immediate condition and needs of infant, toddler, preschool, school-age, and adolescent patients within timeframes defined by practice policies, procedures, and protocols
Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize nursing care effectively
Performs physician-ordered treatments accurately and in a timely manner
Accurately forecasts and administers pediatric immunizations
Demonstrates efficiency and proficiency in the electronic health record (EHR)
Completes thorough, concise, and timely documentation in the patient's medical record related to care provided and patient response
Demonstrates initiative and exercises independent clinical decision-making in alignment with clinical operations needs and standards
Performs RN appointments independently within scope of practice, using sound clinical judgment
Provides individualized education to patients and families
Assists with monitoring, procurement, and proper inventory of supplies and equipment
Maintains clinical competency by staying current with nursing skills, equipment, and best practices
Assists with orientation and onboarding of new personnel
Performs other related duties as directed by the manager
Team Lead Responsibilities
Demonstrates leadership within the team by facilitating and promoting organizational change
Holds team members accountable to COPA policies, procedures, and values
Oversees vaccine management for each clinic, including ordering, inventory control, borrowing reconciliation, and emergency management
Manages medical supplies and inventory
Assists with departmental complaints and issue resolution
Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills in complex or challenging situations
Provides clinical support to team members as needed and serves as a resource to ensure adequate break coverage for all staff
Acts as a staffing resource in the event of an open provider shift
Provides regular updates to the manager, escalates concerns, and recommends solutions or process improvements as challenges or opportunities arise
Participates in employee performance processes, including setting priorities for improvement, providing coaching feedback, training, and guidance
Provides support to the Clinical Operations Team and Vaccine Alarm coverage during scheduled on-call shifts
Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements
Qualifications Education and Certification
Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing program
Required: Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Oregon and license must be in good standing; BSN preferred
Required: Oregon licensure as required for education
Current CPR for Healthcare Provider required
PALS preferred
Experience
Nursing experience required; pediatric experience and telephone triage preferred
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse population; superior nursing process skills; strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills; ability to make independent nursing judgments and prioritize workload; knowledge of community services; ability to multi-task and work independently
Epic EMR experience preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus
Physical Requirements
Use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level in person, over the telephone or through use of other required technology. Sitting or standing for long periods of time Frequent repetitive motion includes computer keyboard use, reaching with hands and arms, and walking Occasional lifting and or moving up to 30 pounds and on rare occasions up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include viewing computer monitor for long periods of time, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception
Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required
Working Conditions
Work inside in a general medical office setting with ergonomically configured equipment
The employee is subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to mechanical parts and chemicals including odors. The employee has been identified as having the likelihood of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials, therefore are included in the OSHA Exposure Control Plan with specification for preventing contact with the above materials
Travel between COPA clinics and business office and community partners as required
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
