Registered Nurse – Cardiac Care

7:30 PM – 7:30 AM
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) will function within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, policies, and procedures. The RN assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients during their shift, addressing needs through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care using age-specific criteria.
Responsibilities
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Assist in planning, directing, and teaching non-RN staff such as LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries.
• Use scientific knowledge and clinical skills to make informed judgments.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
• 2+ Years of Registered Nurse experience – Required
• Chest tube and other drain management experience – Required
• Post-operative open heart care experience – Required
• Pre- and post-procedure care for patients with radial and femoral access – Required
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, including reading and interpreting cardiac rhythm strips – Required
• Advanced knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary abnormalities – Required
• Experience with chest tube removal, management of temporary pacers, and non-invasive ventilation – Required
• Critical Care experience – Highly Preferred
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) certifications – Required
• Must be willing to float to all units within skill level – Required
