Your sense of urgency and dedication to excellence in a fast-paced environment will not only support patient recovery but also fuel your own career advancement. • Assessment: Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards. • Care of Patient: Including planning, implementing, evaluating and educating. • Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards and interventions specific to assigned unit. • Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures. Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system. • Leadership: Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors. Recognizes, accepts and cooperates with direction from facility leadership. • Precepting/Mentoring: Participates in orientation of new staff, ancillary personnel and mentors students in a constructive and positive manner. Serves as resource to staff from other nursing departments. Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications for Labor & Delivery Trainee Position: • Minimum 3 years of acute care RN experience OR 1 year of critical care RN experience • Current CA RN licensure • Current AHA BLS certification • Meets Expectations or above on most recent annual performance evaluation • Preference given to home facility RNs and Float Pool RNs Other program details: • Interview and final selection by 3/13/26 • Transfer into the Labor & Delivery Transition in Practice program on Sunday, 4/12/26 • Attend classes at the Dignity Health Collaborative Learning Center, combined with shifts on the unit with assigned preceptor • Train for 18 weeks on Day shift • Scheduled training hours primarily on days until the completion of the training program, then assigned to Full-Time RN Night shift position on the training unit and begin typical" unit orientation • Expected to commit to remaining a Dignity Health employee for at least one (1) year following the completion of the training program • 100% attendance is expected during the 18-week training program from 4/12/26- 8/15/26 Where You'll Work Founded in 1973, Dignity Health - Methodist Hospital is a 158-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Sacramento, California, serving over 80,000 patients annually.
