
RN/Registered Nurse - Acute/Med Surg/ER in Fairbury, NE
Job Description
Jefferson Community Health & Life is looking for an RN to work in Acute and Emergency room .
Hours available: 3am - 3pm
• Full-time: 36 hours per week, (3) 12 hour shifts per week, every-third weekend and rotating holidays
OR
• Part-time: 24 hours per week, (2) 12 hour shifts per week, every-third weekend and rotating holidays
Differentials :
$2 more per hour when you work between 4pm - 7am (applies to any day that you work these hours)
$4 more per hour on weekends
short notice bonus= 40% more pay when called in with less than 24 hours notice
QUALIFICATIONS :
Current RN Nebraska Nursing License or compact nursing license
New Grads welcome.
BLS & ACLS certifications required or able to obtain.
POSITION SUMMARY : Utilizes assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation in providing comprehensive and competent patient care. Provides effective interaction with patients, family members and staff, and coordinates interdepartmental patient care activities while maintaining nursing standards.
Utilizes the nursing process, for the performance of patient care, to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care to achieve prioritized patient outcomes.
• Performs complete admission assessment, including full body system analysis and home med reconciliation process for med-surgical, ER and outpatients.
• Performs hourly patient rounding for all patient assignments.
• Provides pain management and education as appropriate.
• Performs patient/family teaching for assessed knowledge deficits.
• Evaluates patient progress toward desired outcomes and considers care transition needs prior to discharge.
• Demonstrates personal accountability in the delivery of patient care in a competent, professional and compassionate manner.
Performs and maintains documentation.
• Documents accurate and ongoing assessments of patient status that reflect nursing interventions, patient responses, patient teaching and status of outcomes at discharge.
• Completes all required documentation and shift end check with another nurse prior to leaving duty.
Communicates effectively.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with other health team members regarding patient condition, nursing plan of care, patient satisfaction and pain management needs and recommendations for meeting identified outcomes.
• Completes face to face hand off & introduction with oncoming/off-going nurse when appropriate.
• Performs rounding with physicians for assigned patients.
• Follows approved shift report format when communicating patient information.
• Identifies and recognizes abnormal symptoms/changes in patient condition, established priorities, and takes appropriate action. Appropriately reports condition changes to charge RN and medical provider.
Promotes and ensures patient safety in performance of all responsibilities.
• Administers medications, treatments and procedures in a timely and safe manner according to physician orders and nursing policy, (including appropriate performance of standard precautions, using two patient identifiers, and performing patient risk assessments).
• Demonstrates proficient technical/clinical skills and operational knowledge of equipment on unit.
• Informs and involves manager regarding patient care issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Utilizes proper body mechanics, transfer/lifting techniques and appropriate equipment to minimize fall risk to patient and injury to self.
