School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | Kansas City, Missouri in Fairway, KS

This K-12 RN nursing contract position in Kansas City, MO offers a unique opportunity to serve as the sole registered nurse managing the health room in various school settings. The qualified professional will be responsible for providing comprehensive student health services across preschool through 12th grade in a dynamic school district environment from the start date through May 28th.

Responsibilities include:
• Providing individualized nursing care and emergency response within the school health room
• Managing daily health room operations independently following a 2-week training alongside experienced nurses
• Adapting to fluctuating schedules ranging between 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM and 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM based on school site needs, including flexibility for changes due to field trips or staff absences
• Utilizing electronic health records and digital charting software for accurate and timely documentation
• Collaborating with school staff and parents to support student health and wellness

Qualifications:
• Active Missouri RN license with no disciplinary actions as verified through Nursys
• Recent pediatric nursing experience preferred, ideally from ICU, ER, or school nursing settings
• Ability to multitask and navigate technology efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working with students ranging from preschool through 12th grade
• Flexibility to adapt to varying daily work schedules
