
School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Lisle, Illinois in Clarendon Hills, IL
Job Description
An opportunity is available for a Licensed Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care within a K-12 educational setting, supporting students with special needs. This full-time, semester-long contract role is based in Lisle, IL, with assignments spanning two program locations focused on individualized student care.
Location & Duration:
• First Assignment: Lisle South Location, January 5, 2026 May 22, 2026
• Second Assignment: Transition Program in Lisle, IL, starting ASAP through May 22, 2026
• Hours: 7:45 AM to 3:15 PM, full-time schedule
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver direct 1:1 nursing care to students with special health care needs
• Assist as a classroom aide when appropriate and when the assigned student is not in need of nursing services
• Manage medical needs including G-tube/J-tube/NG tube feeding (bolus and pump methods)
• Monitor and respond to seizures, including administration of emergency medication
• Utilize tracheostomy and suctioning skills where applicable
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure a safe, healthy environment
Qualifications:
• Current Illinois RN Professional License (LPNs may be considered)
• Certification in CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Minimum of one year nursing experience, preferably with pediatrics and/or special needs populations
• Practical experience with feeding tubes and seizure management is essential
• Familiarity with tracheostomy care is considered an asset
