
School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | Lisle, Illinois in Clarendon Hills, IL
Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-semester, full-time nursing position is available within a K-12 special education cooperative serving multiple districts in the Lisle, IL area. This role involves providing direct nursing care and support in two key locations focused on special needs students.
Location and Duration:
• First assignment: Lisle South, IL | January 5, 2026 May 22, 2026
• Second assignment: Transition Program, Lisle, IL | ASAP May 22, 2026
• Hours: Full-time, 7:45 AM 3:15 PM
Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one nursing care to students with special needs, ensuring their health and safety during school hours.
• Administer medical treatments including G-tube/J-tube/NG tube feedings, utilizing bolus and pump methods.
• Monitor and manage seizure activity with appropriate emergency interventions.
• Assist with tracheostomy care and suctioning as needed.
• Support classroom activities by acting as an aide when nursing support is not required.
• Maintain accurate health records and collaborate with educational staff and families.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Current Illinois RN license; LPN candidates considered but RNs preferred.
• CPR and BLS certification required.
• Minimum of one year nursing experience.
• Pediatric nursing and experience working with special needs children.
• Hands-on experience with feeding tubes, seizure management, and emergency medication administration.
• Tracheostomy and suctioning skills are highly valuable.
