School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) | Newcomb, New Mexico in Farmington, NM

School Nurse Position

This role offers an opportunity to provide essential healthcare services within a K-12 school environment located in Newcomb, NM. The position involves working onsite to support student health and well-being across multiple school locations, playing a critical role in maintaining a safe and healthy learning atmosphere. Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver first aid and basic healthcare to students and staff promptly and effectively
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with medical directives
• Support students managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and epilepsy
• Maintain accurate documentation for health office visits, medication administration, and immunizations
• Assist with student health screenings and participate in IEP/504 planning to support individual health needs
• Respond calmly and professionally to health emergencies as they arise
• Collaborate closely with school personnel, parents, and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care Qualifications and Experience:
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with relevant school nursing experience preferred
• Valid CPR and AED certification
• Demonstrated strong communication and organizational skills
• Experience working with children or within school settings highly desirable
• Ability to travel between multiple schools within the district
• Required to pass background checks and fingerprint clearance
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Navajo (Din) is preferred
• Knowledge of IEPs, individualized student care plans, school health regulations, and FERPA is an asset Location and Schedule:
• Position based onsite in Newcomb, NM with travel between 23 schools
• Contract duration from ASAP through May 29, 2026
• Approximately 37.5 hours per week
