Job Description
A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to support an elementary school in Groton, CT, for the remainder of the school year on a contract basis. This role, requiring 7 hours per day, focuses on providing comprehensive school nursing services within an elementary school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage health care needs and emergencies for students in an elementary school.
• Conduct health assessments, administer medications, and maintain accurate medical records.
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to develop and implement health plans.
• Promote a safe and healthy school environment through education and prevention programs.
• Respond to sudden illnesses and injuries promptly to ensure student safety.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• Experience or interest in school nursing, preferably in an elementary school setting.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently while working within the school environment.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of general school nursing duties and protocols.
Location:
• Position is based in an elementary school located in Groton, CT.
