
Senior Surgical ICU Registered Nurse - Full Time Nights in Cockrell Hill, TX

PRIMARY PURPOSE
A Registered Nurse (RN) with 2+ years of experience, you will play a critical role in our Surgical ICU team. Using our nursing professional practice model, you'll coordinate patient care that is focused on specific health conditions, collaborating closely with the healthcare team. You will assess patients, develop individualized care plans, and ensure seamless transitions throughout their healthcare journey.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Education: Graduate of a Registered Nursing program; Bachelor's in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing ICU experience is required, with acute care setting experience preferred.
Certification/Registration/Licensure
• Current RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing or valid Compact RN license.
• Current ACLS/ALS course completion within 90 days of hire or reclassification.
• Valid CPR certification from a recognized provider (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network).
Skills or Special Abilities:
• Provide exceptional care according to the State of Texas Nurse Practice Act and established protocols.
• Conduct continuous assessments and collaborate with team members to deliver patient-centered care.
• Exercise independent judgment to ensure safe and effective nursing care.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Guide non-nursing staff and serve as a preceptor and Charge Nurse as needed.
• Prepare and lead educational programs for patient care.
Responsibilities:
• Act as a patient advocate, focusing on needs, rights, and preferences while fostering positive relationships within the healthcare team.
• Perform continuous patient assessments, recognize changes, notify providers, and implement timely interventions.
• Effectively manage adult ICU patients with a range of complex disorders while ensuring safe medication administration and infection control.
• Stay informed of relevant rules, regulations, and best practices affecting nursing, ensuring compliance with all standards.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient care records.
