Job Description
Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required.
Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This full-time nursing opportunity is based in an elementary school setting in Long Lake, MN, offering a contract role for the current school year.
The position involves working 32.5 hours per week (6.5 hours per day) under the supervision of the District Licensed School Nurse and building/program administrators, providing essential health services to students in the school community.
Key responsibilities include monitoring students with special needs for any warning signs or symptoms that may indicate critical care requirements.
The role also involves providing coverage and support in school health offices as assigned, as well as delivering health specialist support at a preschool program located outside the main school campus.
You will implement direct care components of individualized health-related plans addressing conditions such as allergies, asthma, concussions, ADHD, and seizures.
Additionally, the position requires dispensing daily medications according to documented plans and protocols.
Qualifications and desired experience for this role include:
• Current RN licensure with experience in school nursing
• Ability to work collaboratively under supervision in an educational health setting
• Experience in managing health needs for children with various medical conditions
• Strong observational skills to identify warning signs and respond appropriately
• Familiarity with medication administration in accordance with health plans and protocols
