Collaborates with the interprofessional team to support a safe, therapeutic environment and high-quality outcomes. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department. Essential Functions • Performs plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities. • Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner. • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physicians, patients, and families. • Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation). • Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs). • Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education. • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. • Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education. • Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call. • Performs other duties as assigned. Additional Information Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult. Protected Health Information Accessed: Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record. Exposure: Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens may be present. Physical Requirements (typical): Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, keyboard entry, and repetitive hand/arm movements; occasional sitting, squatting, and kneeling; rare running or climbing. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood/body fluids, hazardous medications, and latex. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. Licensure/Certifications: Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; Handle with Care preferred. Skills: Critical thinking and decisive judgment; able to work with minimal supervision in stressful environments. Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple clinical software systems. Effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand). Ability to successfully complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
