This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse with stepdown unit expertise, ready to deliver high-level cardiac care in a dynamic hospital setting. Your skills will support complex patient needs, including coronary artery disease and post-operative cardiac care. Location: Birmingham, Alabama Experience care facility situated in a vibrant city known for its rich history, cultural diversity, and thriving healthcare community. Key Responsibilities: • Provide specialized nursing care for patients recovering from cardiac procedures such as CABG, cardiac catheterization, and open heart surgery • Monitor and manage dysrhythmias and other cardiac-related conditions using advanced clinical assessment skills • Maintain accurate patient documentation using Epic electronic health records • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and implement patient care • Float support to 3North Cardiac Short Stay and Chest Pain Observation Unit as needed Desired Qualifications: • Current RN licensure with demonstrated experience in stepdown or cardiac care units • Valid BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required • Proficient in managing patients with coronary artery disease and other cardiac diagnoses • Comfortable working with advanced cardiac procedures, including ablation and ICD management • Able to work 12-hour shifts (1900-0700) with a weekend rotation every other weekend Contract Details: • Work 36 or 48 hours per week on a contract basis • Shift hours: 12-hour night shifts • Professional attire: Navy blue scrubs Additional Information: • Nurse-to-patient ratio approximately 1:4 to ensure quality care • Contract offers may be extended following a quick interview process with offers valid for 48 hours This position offers a great way to advance your career in cardiac nursing within an engaging medical environment.
