
Stepdown Nurse (RN) - Hartford, CT in Hartford, CT
Job Description
A registered nurse with specialized experience in step-down care is sought for a dynamic healthcare environment located in Hartford, CT. This contract position offers the opportunity to apply critical care skills in a setting that supports professional growth and offers meaningful patient interactions.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) with step-down or progressive care experience
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certifications required
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred
• Experience in Level 1 or Level 2 trauma centers strongly preferred
Schedule/Hours:
• Approximately 36 hours per week, with the possibility of extending to 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) scheduling is expected
Responsibilities:
• Provide holistic nursing care to patients transitioning from intensive care, employing specialized assessment and monitoring techniques
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Respond promptly to clinical changes and emergencies using advanced nursing protocols
• Educate patients and families to facilitate recovery and promote health management post-discharge
