A Registered Nurse with stepdown and telemetry experience is needed for a high-acuity progressive care unit in Big Lake, Alaska. This contract opportunity is ideal for nurses who thrive in dynamic environments and are committed to delivering exceptional patient care in a 19-bed stepdown observation unit.

Location:

The unit is situated within a major hospital on the 4th floor of the main building, located at 2801 Debarr Road. Big Lake offers a unique blend of serene natural beauty and small-town charm, providing residents with ample outdoor activities like hiking, fishing, and winter sports. The community is tightly knit and known for its scenic landscapes and access to Alaskan wilderness.

Responsibilities:
• Provide compassionate nursing care to patients in a high-acuity stepdown unit with a patient ratio of 4:1.
• Monitor and interpret bedside monitors and EMR documentation, specifically utilizing the EPIC system.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Adhere to unit policies and maintain a positive, professional work ethic.
• Work night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.; weekend shifts are every other weekend.
• May float to other telemetry and medical units as needed.

Qualifications:
• Current Alaska RN license required at the time of application (temporary licenses not accepted).
• Completion of Alaska RN fingerprinting during onboarding.
• Minimum of 1 year of telemetry experience and 1 year of stepdown experience.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic essential.

Additional Details:
• Scrub attire is navy blue in accordance with unit dress code.
• On-call duties are not required.
