Key Responsibilities: • Provide comprehensive care for step-down and acute care patients in a float nurse capacity supporting the emergency department holds. • Utilize clinical judgment and nursing knowledge to assess, plan, and implement nursing interventions. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care. • Accurately document patient care using Cerner electronic health records. • Participate actively in orientation and mandatory training components as required. Qualifications and Desired Experience: • Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey or compact nursing license. • Proven inpatient nursing experience, specifically within PCU/step-down units; emergency department experience is advantageous. • Current certifications in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale – AHA approved). • Strong clinical assessment skills and proficiency with Cerner charting system. • Ability to complete a structured orientation process without rescheduling. Schedule: • 48-hour contract over four 12-hour shifts. • Weekend every other schedule. • One paid holiday per contract as needed. • Contract length of 8 weeks with potential for extension. • Return to work commitment of no more than 3 days. Orientation and Onboarding: Orientation begins virtually, with scheduled in-person training sessions following. Timely completion of all orientation modules and classes is mandatory. Badge appointment and photo submission are conducted in person during orientation.
