A professional stepdown nursing opportunity is available for experienced RNs ready to deliver skilled care in a dynamic hospital setting. This contract role is designed for nurses with at least two years of experience, ideally including prior charge nurse and teaching hospital backgrounds. First-time stepdown nurses will also be considered, welcoming those eager to advance their clinical skills in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide patient care across multiple specialty areas including telemetry, cardiac and neuro stepdown, post-cardiac procedures, dialysis management, respiratory support, and wound care.
• Perform cardiac monitoring, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond swiftly to emergencies using rapid response teams.
• Administer IV therapies including blood products, central and peripheral line care, and manage complex medication protocols such as heparin and cardiac drips.
• Support patients requiring respiratory assistance including tracheostomy and non-invasive airway management.
• Float across various medical surgical units and potentially the emergency department to meet facility needs.
• Adhere strictly to infection control, isolation precautions, and patient safety protocols.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
• Valid RN license with at least 2 years of clinical experience.
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and acute stepdown care preferred.
• Ability to work night shifts in 12-hour rotations.
• Comfortable working a minimum of 8 weekend shifts over a 6-week schedule.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
