
Stepdown Registered Nurse | Augusta, Georgia in Augusta, GA
Job Description
Deliver skilled nursing care in a dynamic stepdown unit serving adult to geriatric patients in Augusta, GA. This contract opportunity offers a guaranteed 36 or 48-hour schedule, providing flexibility and consistency to support your work-life balance. Experience working with a wide range of diagnoses including medical-surgical, telemetry, PCU, ICU, neuro ICU, and CVICU, with a primary float to the ICU and additional float opportunities among multiple units.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers are welcome
• Valid certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH
• Proficiency with Epic Electronic Medical Records system is required
• Comfortable floating among MS, MS Telemetry, PCU, ICU units
• Ability to manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2-3 in ICU and up to 1:5-6 in general units
Schedule and Hours:
• Night shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend coverage expected (approximately 6 weekends per 13-week contract)
• Holiday work required when assigned during major holidays
Responsibilities:
• Deliver patient-centered care while adhering to hospital protocols and safety standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Utilize Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication tools efficiently
• Maintain full compliance with facility requirements for orientation and credentialing
• Engage in floating assignments across units to meet staffing needs
