Job Description
This opportunity invites an experienced Progressive Care nurse to provide comprehensive nursing care for medically stable or predictably unstable patients on a medical/surgical unit. The role involves caring for a diverse patient population, including pediatric cases and those recovering from complex cardiovascular and surgical procedures. Candidates will utilize advanced assessment skills and interventions to manage patients with central lines, chest tubes, arterial lines, and those requiring ventilatory support.
Key responsibilities include delivering holistic carephysical, emotional, spiritual, and culturalto patients, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes, and serving as a clinical leader who supports and mentors staff. Nurses will provide continuous care from admission through discharge, coordinating with healthcare providers and ancillary departments to ensure seamless patient experiences.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
• Degree from an accredited Nursing Program.
• Experience in advanced Medical/Surgical nursing with recent practice in Progressive or Critical Care settings.
• Current State RN licensure.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (must be obtained within 6 months if not currently held).
• Preferred certifications: EPNC, TNCC.
• Proficiency in operating advanced medical equipment, including multiple IV pumps, arterial lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, and ventilatory support devices.
• Ability to interpret basic cardiac telemetry and EKGs.
• Pediatric nursing experience is a plus.
