
Stepdown Registered Nurse - Evans, Georgia in Evans, GA
Job Description
A nursing opportunity is available for experienced RNs skilled in stepdown care, providing crucial support to adults through geriatrics. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive patient care in a high-acuity environment with a variety of units including Medical-Surgical (MS), MS Telemetry, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neuro ICU, and Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU).
Key Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience; first-time travel nurses are welcome.
• Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Proficient in managing a diverse patient population ranging from adult to geriatric patients.
• Comfortable and competent with a wide range of diagnoses typical to stepdown and ICU settings.
• Skilled in Epic electronic health records system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication techniques.
• Capable of floating primarily to ICU and other stepdown units as needed.
• Able to work nights and maintain a consistent schedule.

Responsibilities:
• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients across stepdown and ICU units.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care plans.
• Ensure adherence to hospital policies, patient safety standards, and compliance requirements.
• Manage patient assessment, medication administration, and documentation accurately.
• Participate in floating assignments to various hospital units to meet patient care demands.
Schedule and Work Details:
• Night shift: Four 12-hour shifts (19:00 07:00).
• Approximately every other weekend coverage.
• No call duties required.
• Floating within hospital units as outlined.
Additional Information:
• Contract role with guaranteed hours of 36 or 48 per week.
• Orientation is required with compliance necessary to start on schedule.
• Expected to work major holidays falling during the assignment.
• Navy blue scrubs are standard.
